Friday, June 19-So today I went in for my 3 hour glucose test and it was the pits. Midway through I began to get the sweats and nauseous. I couldn't drink anything for those 3 hours. I had my fasting blood draw first thing, then the super sugary drink about 9:30, and then had blood draws at 10:30, 11:30, and 12:30. The office called the following Monday and said I had failed 2 of the 4 blood draws...just barely. But that meant I would have to see a nurse educator, nutritionist, and high risk Dr. So I scheduled those appts. and pretty much came home and had a meltdown for a few days.
Thursday, June 25-Met with the nurse educator today and received testing supplies. I have to test my blood 4 times a day and will meet with the nutritionist next week to discuss diet. Needless to say, I went home and had yet another meltdown.
Monday, June 29-(Matt's b-day)Met with the nutritionist today, Dana went with me, and received some helpful information to help manage my blood sugars. Which since testing daily, they have been pretty good.
Tuesday, July 7-Today I met with Dr. Amon (high risk) and we tested BP and it was great. He was pleased with my blood sugar readings. We listened to Sawyer's HB and discussed my overall health throughout this pregnancy. He still wants me to test 4 times a day but said meds would not be necessary at this point because my numbers have been so good so far with just managing my diet and exercise. I was a little distressed when he told me he wants to see me EVERY WEEK though. I will see Dr. Hahn next tuesday for my regular 2 week appt. and I will see what to do about all the Dr. visits. Dr. Amon want to do an US, non-stress test, measure cervical length, and regular visit every week. If he is doing all that, then I don't see the need for any other office visits...we will see what Hahn thinks.
Soooo, I think that is about the complete update on all that. At this point, I still feel like it is kind of running my day, but I am sure it will get better. I have determined the key for me so far, is getting those proteins in my snacks and more proteins with meals. I have cut back on carbs and sweets. I am searching for recipes for some low carb desserts...lol.
Best of all is Sawyer is completely healthy. Last week's US showed him measuring EXACTLY where he is supposed to be and the fluid was right where it is supposed to be. He weighed 3 pounds 5 ounces and will gain an ounce a day from here on out, so that would make today 3.12. Isn't that exciting? He was moving around and trying to eat his fist. He was laying kind of sideways with his head on one side and bottom on the other. I am feeling lot's of movement, mostly in the evenings. Sometimes I really wonder what he is doing in there!
